We've posted a few homes and décor that are inspired by skateboarding and the like, and most of it looked like pretty literal translations. The Red Bull headquarters here in London's West End takes the concept of skateboarding and other prominent action sports a few steps further in the design of their office. Thanks to the creative minds at Jump Studios, this sleek space not only functions beautifully as a workplace--it also has some great ideas for the home as well. Check out some inspiring photos after the jump...
The HQ takes up three floors in a building dating back to the 19th century, melding modern interiors with historical exteriors. Spread throughout the designated "social" floors of the office (mainly the roof top and higher floors) are various communal areas with video screens, a bar, a café, and an enviable view of London's West End.

A small meeting room / ping-pong room.
A consistent theme used throughout the entire office is a carbon fiber element that runs from the top floor to the bottom (the roof top has a canopy of it and runs through each floor, making an appearance in the main boardroom before sloping down to hold the reception area reminiscent of a skateboard ramp...and finally forming slides to various areas on the lower level). The design team of Jump Studios made sure to emulate "trace patterns left by skaters, snowboarders, stunt planes, race cars and bikes" as an ode to Red Bull's involvement in the action sports industry.

As someone who works in the US Headquarters for Red Bull, it's part of the company's personality. We have a huge ramp that goes from one end of the building to the other... I've seen several of our athletes ride the ramps on skateboards and bikes. We also have a giant screening room, fantastic gym and a game room with 8 flat screens and a projection screen which I frequently play Guitar Hero on. Regardless of whether or not you like the drink, the company is probably the best I've ever worked for. Lots of work, but lots of play!!
You can look at where I work below..

(side note, still totally jealous of London's slide though)
