Playing up the sunroom, Sandra uses warm yellow paint for the walls and soothing blue for the ceiling. Mixing in red floral curtains and a gingham pillow give the space added texture and life.

Plain wooden drawers receive new life with decorative map paper (and stamps from around the world).

Superb! I am NOT a cottagey-country person. Most "eclectic" comes off as thrift store or college apartment to me. But, I love, love, love your style and taste. The colors, the scale, the mood, the details, it all works beautifully together. I can almost smell the tranquility. Congratulations! Excellent job!
p.s. You've proven one of my design principles. It's not the style, it's the designer. All styles work if done beautifully.

This is so charming. I work from home and would love to have such a cozy sunny space of my own.
And the map-covered drawers are brilliant. I'm going to do the same to my own filing cabinets right now! Thanks for the idea.

Where did you get the maps for the filing cabinets? Are they wallpaper? I love them.

thank you, monique. the maps are something i've been collecting for years. they come from atlases, travel guides, geography books and magazines found in thrift stores and garage sales. i glue them on using a water-soluble glue (mod podge works) and seal them with a non-toxic acrylic matte varnish. it's really easy!

Oh dear! Once using again that faddy, trite, over laundered, over boiled, alternative-fashionista word "VINTAGE"?

I love the maps on the storage drawers!
Living in Florida....all my rooms are sun rooms. lol! Unfortunately, you have to keep the shades/curtains pulled or your utility bill will seriously get out of hand.
