Inspiration: Sherry And John's: This Young House

121208tyh-04.jpgWe were scouring the web (as we always do) and stumbled upon a website called This Young House. It's a platform that Sherry and John use to display amazing before and after pics of their old house brought back to life. They offer consulting services for other homeowners whose homes also need a little TLC. More inspiring photos of their home after the jump.

121208tyh-04.jpgThis is the first image we saw and we fell in love. We could definitely do something like this in our laundry room. Right now we have boxes stored on a shelf for all to see and these roller shades would be the perfect way to hide the eyesore.

121208tyh-02.jpgWe are in love with this elegant bedroom. The two sets of curtains set out to make this bed the focal point of the room (and it also makes the room super cozy).

121208tyh-01.jpgOpposite side of the master bedroom with a full length mirror which enlarges the space. They've created a lovely seating area with a vintage fan, a cozy leather chair and a glass vase that is quite amazing.

121208tyh-03.jpgA cheery guest bedroom with a bright green headboard that draws you in. Definitely head over to their website for more inspiring before and after photos.

In the Elegant Bedroom, the white set of curtains appears to cover storage. Not only does it make the head of the bed seem more cosy, but they have found a great way to add more storage too! That is a very clever idea and one I will put away in my file of things to remember.

I like this house a lot. It feels very clean and minimalist, but not in that show-room, no one really lives here way. It just feels comfy and airy...like a beach house.

Thanks for posting. I used to read their blog, which is great, but I lost the link. I really enjoy reading about the evolution of their home.

I also like this house a lot. Light, airy, cozy, love the green headboard. Hope it is filled with all the hope and cheer of new beginnings that it seems to be.

What a beautiful home! And obviously achieved without a huge renovation budget. They kept the charming details of the house (like that gorgeous fireplace) and updated them. Well done!

Thanks so much for the super sweet post about our blog.

Made. Our Day.

In fact, we're still blushing as we write this, but we just had to say thanks and mention to dhyana that we got our brown and white blanket from Bed Bath & Beyond on sale for something like $19. It was about a year ago but we've actually seen them in the clearance section pretty recently so there might still be a few out there. Happy hunting!

xoxo,
Sherry (& John)

I love their site and their house, especially the bedrooms. I recently ordered a custom pet silhouette from them as a Christmas gift for my sister and I'm excited to see how it turned out! I've been wondering where that brown comforter came from forever! I'm going on the hunt for it now!
