Inspiration: The Avalon Hotel

Avalon. The name alone conjures relaxing seaside escapes, perfect for this time of year, and if you happen to be looking for a little decor inspiration. If you've ever had a chance to to visit the Avalon Hotel here in Beverly Hills, you'll find lots of watery hues, mixed with fun mid century style and asian modern touches. It was Kelly Wearstler's first foray into hotel design fabulousness. The image above is from the Avalon Hotel's "one bed suite." We love the feel of this room, so we put together a little idea board as a starting point to trying to recreate this look...

What would add or do to recreate this look? Have any of you stayed at the Avalon? Have you ever decorated a room in your own home based on a hotel you've stayed in?

You can see a 360 degrees virtual tour of the Avalon Hotel at their website.

the fitzgerald armchair upholstered in light blue chino or velvet at williams-sonoma home might work with that sofa, although you lose the cool chrome element. brown jordan makes a line of outdoor furniture, Vu, in stainless steel and customizable upholstery....the lines aren't quite the same but it gives off a similarly sexy vibe.

west elm's parsons cube side table is a good match for the side table from the inspiration room...i think. i can't quite tell from my monitor if that really is a cube.
