With our grief over how to host people without a spare room, we realize that there's always the option of suggesting they stay in one of the lovely hotels we have. They may be out our price range, but they're always good for some bedroom inspiration:

Pictured uptop is the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica, their penthouse bar is not to be missed!

The Kelly Wearstler Designed Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica

We love the blue and white of the rooms at the Standard in Hollwood. But how can we resist its sister hotel's matching curtains and pendant lamp downtown?
The new Custom Hotel is super close to LAX and still close enough to Venice and Santa Monica to be convenient. It's black facade and tongue-in-cheek rooms add a little flair to the westside.
Uber chic Philippe Stark designed Mondrian in Hollywood.
Mid century glam of the Avalon in Beverly Hills.
The easy going beach vibe of Shutters on the Beach.
Have you had guests stay at hotels while in town? Have you stayed at an inspiring hotel in LA? We want to hear about it!
Can I beg for identifications? I'm drooling over the headboard in the picture of the Huntley Hotel, as well as the cream chair in the Viceroy! (Although I'm already cringing at the thought of how much both of them must cost...)

Check out Villa Delle Stelle in Hollywood:

The Art Deco and English suites are gorgeous and very reasonable considering you could fit the entire family!

I stayed at L'ermitage in Beverly Hills years ago, and I still remember their beautiful rooms.

Anokha, I'm assuming that most items in a hotel guestroom are custom. It's just more cost effective that way.

The Bel Air Hotel is a glimpse into what I imagine Heaven looks like.

All lovely in their own way. My personal favorite is the viceroy, if only for that white chair.
