For us, that place last evening was Froggy's Topanga Fish Market Restaurant in Topanga Canyon. A huge outdoor patio that looks to be nestled in the trees and where margarita's flowed from mason jars (love). Large oak trees covered with what we thought was Spanish Moss (but after research, it seems to be Ramalina). We were also really digging the "unfinished" tree table tops that unified the rustic space. Froggy's definitely reminded us of a spot we would find back home (South Carolina). And while we didn't stay past sunset, apparently the frogs start croaking at sundown--a soundtrack we could definitely get used to.

I was in Topanga a few years ago and ate at Froggy's. I was trying to hold back the flood of memories of when that building was the American Legion Hall and on Friday nights it was always a huge hippy pot luck BBQ and bring your own blankets and chairs to watch Betty Boop movies. That was probably around 1978 or so. Topanga has changed so much since then. ah well. life races forward.
