Roundup: Housewarming Invites

100507_kitentea2.jpgCome on Over! This week in the Fall Cure we're sending out invites for our housewarming gatherings. And I don't know about you, but I'm always promising myself that I'll have people over and it pretty much never happens.

But since it's an assignment, I did my research and found these Kitchen Tea invites from Chapel Press that totally inspire me to have an easy breezy tea party. It's really no different from just inviting people over but it just feels so home-y and old fashioned to do it this way. And I love any excuse to send out real hand written invitations!

No matter how you've chosen to celebrate your home, this is the week to send out invites. After the jump there's a roundup of letterpress invites to help inspire:

I could use some help with party ideas. Simple themes?

I find prom themes to be good fodder, heres some real life examples:

A Knight to Remember
Arabian Nights
Can’t Fight the Moonlight
Captured in a Dream
Egyptian Allure
Enchantment Under the Sea
Eternal Elegance
Fly Me to the Moon
Greek Paradise
Got to Believe in Magic
Here’s to the Night
Hurray for Hollywood
Jungle Allure
Magical Memories
Mystical Twilight
Putting on the Ritz
Saturday Night Fever
Space Odyssey
Sunset Serenade
Tahitian Fantasy Cruise
This Magic Moment
Tonight is the Night
Tonight’s Dream…Tomorrow’s Memory
Underwater Paradise
Unforgettable
Voices That Care
Written in the Stars

I think I'm going to go for "Hurray for Hollywood".
Alliteration is key.

I might be lazy but I also like themes like 'potluck'. ; )

Guy, it's "breezy" not "breasy"... breasy looks like breasty, especially when it's next to the word tea.

Thanks, moe. I was thinking of a more casual theme. Something that doesn't require much decoration beyond serving dishes and napkins. I guess it should just be "4 Year Housewarming."

OK, I was trying to be amusing & snarky - I hate themes, they always come off really contrived.

I just think prom themes are kind of kitschy and could be fun in an ironic/silly kind of way. Especially for invites (the design could be hilarious).

Just have a cocktail party. Most people like booze, and snacks. I know I do.
