Table for One: Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant

101507_alone.jpgEating dinner hunched over the kitchen sink? Yeah, me too. Sometimes I eat walking around the house while rearranging furniture. If I'm really dedicated, I get out the knife, fork, plate and napkin and I dine.

Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant validates us solo diners and makes eating alone sound cool. The set of short stories manages to cover how to be an asparagus superhero and the best way to microwave potatoes (don't worry, recipes are included).

I'm finding that it's the perfect reading material for all my extra time in bed. The stories are just bite sized enough to read a couple before bed and maybe sneak in another in the morning. In a wierd way it makes me feel less alone.

For some reason, I hate eating alone. If I must I park myself in front of the trusty ole' computer (where I spend the other 99% of my time)... Perhaps I should read this to get over my crippling co-dependency?

mmadden--buck up! I love eating by myself, it's just embarrassing to admit how I do it. The stories in the book go so far beyond what I do that it makes it funny.

haha, thanks laure. My emotions are raw lately, that's all.

I will definitely check out this book. The premise seems really interesting.
