TaskWatch Whiteboard Clock: Timepiece and Appointment Keeper

Art. Lebedev Studio's TaskWatch whiteboard is one of those "duh, why didn't I think of that" ideas that is perfect for the office, kitchen or anywhere else you might need to jot down a reminder or two.

Patents are pending, but that shouldn't stop you from making your own Taskwatch dry erase DIY version, since it would just be a matter of drilling a dry erase board, using a disassembled common wall clock, and maybe some round color labels from any stationery store to mark the houses. Sometimes a brilliant idea is one worth stealing and making yourself.

Great low-tech idea, especially since those dang Outlook meeting reminders keep crashing my mail client.

I'm not sure how they will get a patent (unless it's v v v specific to this particular implementation) considering that Target sold a dry erase board/clock 5ish years ago. The core differences between this one and the Target clock are that the Target clock was smaller and more offset into a corner, leaving more room for writing on the board, and instead of permanent markings to indicate time, there were magnets. I'd go find it to check on the original manufacturer, but the dog is zonked out in front of the closet so that's not happening at the moment.

Man, genius idea! And so easy and cheap to make! A piece of whiteboard from Home Depot, cut to whatever size you like. An electric clock drive from Michaels or http://www.klockit.com/. Use whatever you like for the arms or the hash marks. Brilliant idea, and thanks.
