The Gratitude Box
A Heartfelt Gift Idea This Holiday Season

121708_giving01.jpgIn recent years, I have found that giving material gifts to my family has become somewhat challenging. What to get and how much to spend? Do they really need that? How do I make this special for them? I really want to give sincere + genuine gifts to my family this year and definitely think I have found the answer.

This year, I am giving a each member of my family a Gratitude Box. I spotted this quite amazing and thoughtful idea on Oprah a few months ago and was immediately attracted to it.

I prepared for the Gratitude Box gift during Thanksgiving this year. I gave each family member a sheet of paper with our family names on it. The task...write down a heartfelt message to that person - focusing on how they are special to them. A few of Oprah's suggestions were "Thank your for....", "What I love about you...." or "My holiday wish for you this year is...".

I then took some time and handmade pretty gift boxes and gift tags and placed each family members "gratitude" message in the proper box.

I can't wait to give this very special gift this year that is from all of our hearts. This year's idea of giving will really mean something to my family and to me.

Make your own Gratitude Box for your family or friends - a gift that keeps giving. Collect special messages from your family and have fun with the DIY of making your own gift boxes.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday season!

My brothers would NEVER go along with this, but my mother would love it. Hmmm, make Mom happy while simultaneously annoying my brothers---sounds perfect!
