The Small House Society

Apartment Therapy isn't alone in our pursuit of promoting small space living. Check out The Small House Society, a cooperatively managed organization dedicated to the promotion of smaller housing alternatives, with ecological impact and affordability as primary goals. There are some great links and resources to hopefully inspire readers to simplify and downsize material lifestyle, while improving the quality of life lived through smart choices...a perfect compliment to our Smallest, Coolest Apartment contest we think. And you want to talk about small? How about Director of Resources for Life and The Small House Society contributor Gregory Johnson's miniscule 140 square foot home!? Lots of links about this amazingly tiny home here

So, I was reviewing my site visitor stats and noticed a large group of people coming to visit our site from this posting on Apartment Therapy. How cool!

Thanks for this very thoughtful posting about the Small House Society and my 140 square foot home!

I was somewhat embarrased to discover that I didn't have a link to Apartment Therapy on our Resources Page! I thought I'd done that long ago. Not having a link to this site is like getting half-way through the day and then realizing my socks don't match!

However, I quickly solved the problem by adding a link to Apartment Therapy under the heading Small Living Resources on our Resources Page here:

A word of advice, if you have a website and aren't already linking to Apartment Therapy, you should do so immediately -- It will save you from the embarrassment of looking like you're a style-neanderthal.

I love what you've done to make apartments and small spaces (as well as the Internet) more enjoyable!

Thanks!

Wow. That is very, very cool. Meanwhile, I really wish that before my dead grandmother's little cottage house in North Louisiana got torn down to make way for a widened road, that someone could move it off and go live in it's quaint early 20th Century charm.

By the way, I've been thinking about all these people with the subprime loans who are about to lose their houses out there in the hinterlands.

I live in New York City, where many of us have co-ops, and I'm wondering if there could eventually be such things created out of some of those bloated McMansions that are all about to become otherwise repossessed. Hmmm...
