That tiny green side table is just lovely, is it something that is currently available?

I like the green table, but it seems wasted, both visually and practically. It's just there to hold a watering can? Don't get this.

That little green table is doing an excellent job of holding that watering can! And who knows what might be in that wee drawer?
I just wonder how easy (or not) it might be to slide past there to make the bed, etc... it's hard to tell from the pic what the clearance might be.

Seems like the little green table is just being wasted - and the drawer is too small to be that extremely functional. My biggest thought is the couple must have just downsized apartments and hasn't figured out what to get rid of yet.

Placing the skinny green table next to the pine-y tall and skinny dresser make both seem less skinny and looming. I approve. I like how the color of the table plays off the green plant too.

A great deal of my apartment is set up like this ... I didn't know others did it too! It makes the most of a small space, and it's fun finding new uses for small pieces like that when you move things around. I recently moved the very small chest of drawers that had been my grandfather's nightstand into the living room, where it holds a speaker alongside the hutch cabinet at the entrance to the room. Fits the space perfectly, gets the speaker off the floor, houses much in its four little drawers ... and it's roughly the same vintage and color, so the two pieces look like they belong together. In the bedroom, I have a very small tiled plant stand tucked into a space between the end of the window and the bookcase ... extends the space for plants a bit beyond the sill to hold a large plant that would be too squashed up against the glass.

"and the drawer is too small to be that extremely functional"? Maybe they just like it as a piece of sculpture, which also can't be considered "extremely functional".

BTW: the dresser is from IKEA and IS extremely functional in a tight space. One of IKEA's better ideas.

A table is not a piece of sculpture - it's a piece of furniture.

And I never said anything about the dresser, so stop the rant there.

I think this looks great. I have a similar set up in my living room area. I love the green table, and it looks low profile enough to not be in the way.

mjs7640 was right on about possibly liking it as sculpture - as defined by artists as "functional art".

I really like that dresser.
