Using Chinese Elements: Wisteria Living

041808_wisteria.jpgWe've been thinking about how the Chinese Decor we saw on vacation could get incorporated into our home. With a look at Turquoise's Chinoiserie Meets the Beach we're definitely getting inspired. We also love the way Wisteria uses Chinese antiques in a modern setting. Some of our favorite pieces from their collection after the cut.

That living room is my dream room - maybe one day! I have some of the things in my apt. that have a similar feel but I have a long way to go.

It's beautiful. I've just started doing this as well. But a caveat: there is no way to know whether Wisteria's vintage and "antique" stuff from China is authentic. It's almost decidedly not, and same with the stuff you get on ebay, though it's very very difficult to tell, esp. with a distressed "antique" elm bench. It's probably better to buy this stuff on ebay or locally though because you'll be paying less than Wisteria's jacked up prices. $329 is just too much for a fake. I found an "antique" elm bench for $89 at my local antiques market. Oh, and a lot of Wisteria's "vintage" chinese decorative accessories like water and rice buckets, giant calligraphy brushes, and distressed wooden buddha heads can be found at your local Tuesday Morning for 60% less.
