apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Using Fabric Panels To Separate A Space

In a home that is one continuous space, it's important to set up separate zones for privacy and comfort. Adding panels are a great way to divide a room (while still keeping the open, airy vibe)...

Christopher picked up of few of these panels from IKEA for this DIY. He mentions that it wasn't the easiest feat (but only because he was lacking the proper ladder). We love how the panels visually separate the area but retain the spacious feeling of the loft. It also helps that the panels aren't stationary--when the industrial loft feel is desired, the panels can be pulled back on each side.

Lovely!

I wish the panels in the bed room fell closer to the floor, however, but that's just personal preference!

Gorgeous apartment, btw.

The panels are nice and all...but it's the sofa and coffee table that are the stars of this post.

This coffee table was made by IKEA around 2005. Luckily I bought one before they discontinued it. They should bring it back!

The sofa is also IKEA from around 2005.

Good looking place, but the curtains around the bed should really be floor length!

I agree about the curtains needing to hit the floor .... but I *think* the person wanted them to look like bed posts rather than curtains. Just a theory.
