Using Scrap Wood To Add Color and Texture

102209board-01.jpgWe spotted Wendy's studio in one of our favorite Flickr groups, Corners of Our Home. Instantly drawn to the quaint space we noticed a Ghirardelli wood panel in the the left corner...

Wendy apparently noticed the cool find as it was being tossed into the trash, when she rescued it and brought it home. It fits perfectly in her office corner nook adding soothing colors, texture (and a neat story).

We've always been in love with this wall in Berdhouse Gallery. David found the wood over the course of a year and cut each piece to fit perfectly along the wall in his shop.

We're pretty sure Kate's wood was bought and stained (an impressive DIY) but again, you can do the same with found wood from scrap stores.
