...spent most of the day talking about how we would design, style and enjoy our own dream home. (Although instead of a white picket fence, we would have a reclaimed wood slatted fence). We wanted to ask you - what does your white picket fence home look like? Share with us below.

What is a "reclaimed wood slated fence"?

I have my white picket fence home, but the city won't allow me to put up a white picket fence (or any fence at all). Well, technically I can, it just has to be 25 feet back from the road, which puts it on my front porch.
They say otherwise it's a road hazard????? The city actually owns the first 25 feet from the road to the house. I told them they'd better start doing their fair share of the mowing then, but they didn't think that was funny.

mirandabee, in my "white picket fence" world, I would have an outdoor fence made of reclaimed wood, placed horizontally. -Rebecca

OK, I guess you meant "slatted," as in "made with slats." I thought slate might somehow be involved... an interesting concept! ;-)

A Gothic Victorian house with beautiful gardens, a sun room, craft room, library, office, wrap around porch adn widow's walk. :) And of course, the fence.

I want a tiny bungalow. Two bedrooms max. Big ceiling molding, natural wood floors. Tiny but bright kitchen. Big windows. Huge front porch. Screened in back porch a must. A Fireplace. A big backyard (large enough for gardens, chickens and a goat). Fence could be anything. Close enough to the neighborhoods I love that I can ride my bike to anything. Sigh....maybe someday...
