January Jumpstart: Jon's Ikea ROGER chair transformation #1

10-29-doitnow.jpgSince Laure and Gregory have already shared their January Jumpstart projects, I thought it was time for me to get mine going as well! Ever since I first saw this Neptune chair at Anthropologie, I've been secretly obsessing over it. Unfortunately it's way out of my budget and really, the main reason I liked it was because of the graphic and fun paint treatment. I love the fact that the bottom few inches are exposed while the rest of the body is white. It looked like a perfectly easy to do DIY...

I've been meaning to replace two of my dining chairs (two of them are folding chairs and I've been wanting something less... temporary?) I finally settled on these ROGER chairs from IKEA- but the chairs as is are kind of plain, so I had the idea to do the same paint treatment as the Anthropologie Neptune chair to the ROGER chair. I actually bought these chairs last October and they've been sitting in my garage, still in the box... unopened... all this time. This weekend's beautiful weather proved to be an opportune time to get it done... Stay tuned for what I did and how it turned out...

The Ikea ÖGLA chair would be cool for this project, too.

I'm kind of considering it myself. :-) I'm going to keep an eye on your project progress.
