An old TV console is repainted into something more modern by romeoandjewels. Take a look below at their January Jumpstart, from start to finish, with photos, tools used, instructions and VOTING below...

Wooohoo! I'm FAMOUS! I was pleasantly surprised to see my entry posted! I'm a total whore for Apartment Therapy, so I'm honored!
Okay - more details... I submitted this on the very last day of the contest and I'm put to shame by the details everyone else provided.
This console was found at the Pasadena "Out of the Closet" thrift shop. My best friend and I were doing a leisurely girl shopping day and stumbled on this fantastically ugly laminate console with molded plastic doors (the before picture doesn't really do the ugliness justice). At first repulsed, I re-examined the lovely detailing and decided to buy it. $15, a trip to Michael's and a phone call to Best Friend's SUV-owning husband later, we had the console on a tarp in her driveway and were happily inhaling Krylon fumes!
I still need to bore a hole in the back to hook up my DVD player and it's still airing out (It still smells slightly like Eau de Old Lady), but I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out - it totally feels like some decorator piece that I would lust over in Metropolitan Home.
Thanks for looking! :)

It looks HEAVY!!

Hi Petworthdc,
It definitely looks heavy but it's pretty light! We practically carried it into the SUV one-handed. Most of it is particleboard, with the doors being some sort of molded plastic. :)

That's a project the Paint Everything White Brigade (heh, I saw that phrase somewhere on AT) can be proud of! :D
