J.Crew Goes to the Kaufmann House

022908_jcrew1.jpgHere's something creepy: I got a new J.Crew catalogue in the mail yesterday, and I noticed one of the models looked eerily familiar...and it was Gregory! No, just kidding; it was a guy I worked with a few years back. Anyway, J.Crew has been trying to glam it up these past few seasons, and their new catalogue uses one of the most iconic homes in Southern California as a backdrop: Richard Neutra's Kaufmann House in Palm Springs.

It's an amazing house - even moreso knowing what the previous owner did to restore it after some nasty additions

I think 7 For All Mankind have also used the Kaufman House for their latest campaign. I would go back and check in this month's Vanity Fair, but that would involve flicking through 300 pages of glossy ads to find it...
