apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Jenn's Retro Dining Nook

You're probably already familiar with Jenn Ski's retro prints which Apartment Therapy has raved about here and here. Her work is a bit vintage, a bit modern but always retro (which is what we love most about her green kitchen nook)...

You'll have to check out the before pics to fully appreciate the transformation of Jenn's kitchen nook. Now the perfect shade of green helps to bring the retro yellow table and white chairs into view. The floor and table pop from their surroundings with a little help from crisp window shades and stark white chairs. The teeniest vignette of plates lined up on the wall add texture and pattern to the space. The white and chrome pendant light help to unify the space which match the dining set perfectly. The green plants on the windowsill are a nice contrast to the green walls making the space feel playful and upbeat.

Those older tables are great. They're unique, they look good, and they have function.

This looks great, and I love that shade of green on the walls. I do think it needs a highlighter pop of some other colour though.

That green is a bold choice and a good foil for the yellow (I used to own the twin of that table!).

Maybe the next project could be replacing that accordian-style door?

Very nice! I think the accordian style door fits into the scene perfectly. It works with the slightly retro theme.
