Although technically Kitchen and Bath month ended last month, with spring in the air, the local farmer's markets looking increasingly lush and our refrigerators, counters and menus starting to bear the imprint of the new season, this kitchen cart hack seemed to be the right thing at the right time...

A handy prep station for chopping vegetables is made even more practical with the additional of a bowl to catch scraps that can then go directly to the garbage or, preferably, the composter. While this hack was obviously done on a kitchen island from Ikea, any rolling metal or wooden cart with a wooden butcher block counter can bear the same treatment.
