Pepe and Friends Tableware by Camila Prada

051209_camileprada1.jpgIt's considered a faux pas to deviate from gift registries, but we might have to make an exception for our more cutesy friends when we spotted this adorable collection of tablewares by Camila Prada. The Pepe and Friends are a combination of cute, simple Japanese pop illustrations with sturdy German ceramics, perfect to add a little charm to the kitchen. Check out a few of our favorite designs after the jump...

Pepe and Friends are available online at PepeandFriends.com. It's also currently available at the SFMOMA museum store in San Francisco, although it's not listed in the online shop yet.

Those are cute and it is absolutely *NOT* a faux pas to deviate from a gift registry. But anyway, I'm old-fashioned and cranky and I think that gift registries are tacky.

I have never heard deviating from a registry called a faux pas. A registry is helpful to guests and recipients alike, but it is in no way a binding contract.

Those are totally darling. I know exactly who is getting a set of espresso cups for Christmas!

Faux pas huh? Oh well, I'll continue to ignore them. I think the idea that I must give a specific gift is ridiculous.

SUCH cute tableware! I like the cookie jar.

I don't like these designs at all, and even if I did, I'd probably get tired of them pretty quickly. I think it's best to stick with classics that will endure for wedding presents, whether they're on the registry or not. These are too twee for a wedding present.

I'm so glad somebody else shares my view on registries! How is it faux pas to give a gift you know the recipient will love?
