Homework's Laser Rosenberg has a great eye and picks pieces for his store that feel special and unique. Beautiful furniture, desk and home accessories, plus a great selection of coffee table books, make the store worth the visit.
The prices are insanely high but if it's "wonderful" you are after, you have come to the right place.
We are fans of Peter Sandback's hand cast pigmented concrete top tables, which can be ordered in a bunch of great sizes and colors. Mat Gagnon's "squeezable light" floor lamp ($1,800) is made from a billion little pieces of wood, and we can't go into the store without touching and molding the light structure into a new shape. Unlike many specialty stores these days, Homework actually feels special.

Agreed! Laser Rosenberg has a great eye and his store is really well-edited. It's hard to go into Homework without walking out with a few impulse buys. I've purchased artwork, home accessories, out-of-print books, and Jutta Neumann jewelry in the past. A lot of unique merchandise. Highly recommended.
I think it's really unfair that you label both Homework and Yolk as expensive. They have great items and are reasonably priced. Especially in comparison to NYC stores.
