Living The 'Tiki' Life: It will be an uphill battle to convince us that "Tiki decor" is ever a good thing, but here are some devotees that are giving it a try.

Life on the flip side: A couple decides to switch around the entrance of their home.

So beautifully, naturally spare: architect Irving Gill, a pioneer of such technical advances as tilt-slab construction, cherished the interplay of building and plants, creating a distinctively regional style.

The Scout:

• A spotlight on eco-cool designs: The Mio Collection led by Colombian brothers Isaac and Jaime Salm, makes beauty eco friendly.

• A clear shot at vintage: Stefan Lawrence, purveyor of futuristic design at the furnishings emporium Twentieth sure has some perfect pieces.

• Garden treasure hunting: Lynette Proler wanders Europe in search of garden antiques. She will share tales of her hunts during a lecture from 9:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 23 at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden.

Hawaii in the brush lands: In case you need to read more about Tiki.

Wow, that bedroom with the 2 giant Tiki's flanking the door is something to see. Hate or love the style, you gotta love the Tiki enthusiasts. They're passionate about their aesthetic, always have the best parties, and the gals all look like Bettie Page (or Blaze Starr) gone tropical.
