We got a tip from AT:NY that this weeks Currents from the New York Times is all about us! (ok, well, not exactly us, but all about Los Angeles design.) Here are a few highlights:

•A feature on Met Lofts, a new "open-plan" apartment building in Downtown

Saw that article and was actually wondering if the author of the piece on the Bodega Bar had ever been IN the bodega bar. That place is one of the most disappointing attempts at creating an interior I have ever seen. In fact, before it was a wine bar it was a club. They didn't seem to mind keeping the cheesy red floor lights. All they did was install some interesting modern vertical wine racks and concrete looking community bars.
Clearly their publisist is doing a good job. With the plethora of wine bars popping up and with the interesting interios in LA Restaurants, WHY on earth would they pick the Bodega Bar as one to publish is beyond me. Does anyone disagree? Curious...
I preferred it when it was Sugar. Especially since I was one of the residents. ;)
Sugar was great when it first started...great DJ's!
Anyone remember the other cool club that was on Main Street - I think they called it The Pink?
