For some reason, big ricepaper lanterns always make me happy...
...must come from seeing them in the streets during the summers and festivals in Japan.

yes. the paper lantern. I adore them, and regardless of the setting, they always shout "lets party" to me.

The abundant cluster of varying-sized lanterns, all reflected by the crazy mirror wall: OMG YES PLEASE.

I'm not usually a fan of paper lanterns (too reminiscent of dorm life), but this once again confirms my theory that cheap shit looks AMAZING in groups.

...upon further thought, a lantern-cluster like that would be a totally brilliant solution to hiding a crappy overhead rental light in a place that does not allow you to change out lighting fixtures. I am so doing this in the dining room.

I love the cluster too! I snapped this photo at the DIFFA event last winter. See the full post here http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/la/dining-room/atla-on-the-town-diffas-dining-by-design-2008-063022

And, Chester Shoeshine, love your comment!
