Baccarat Chandelier

baccarat-chandelier-.jpgWe usually can’t look at big crystal chandeliers without thinking of over the top (tacky) opulence.

But when we saw an add for this Baccarat Eight-Light Chandelier with Hurricane Holders, we sort of wished we had a grand formal dining room to hang it in. It costs close to $17,000 (once you add shipping), so it’s not on our Christmas wish-list, but wow is it wonderful.

While not quite the level of grandeur and over-the-topness of the Baccarat version, Pottery Barn has a nice adaptation of this look. Click on my name for the link.

At a better price, too.

I like over-the-top chandeliers, as long as other things in the room are restrained. I'd like to have a massive one over a very simple staircase landing.

Valerie--

I love that look, of one crazy-Baroque something in an otherwise sleek envelope.

DWR currently has an AMAZING red Murano glass one...

But for a more James Bond feel, I also REALLY love their Kristall:

Valerie,
You should check out www.gallery84.com. They have a great selection of chandeliers and lamps.
