Look! Linen Hanging Lamp

atla-071008-linenpendant.jpgIn the guise of helping out a friend, we've been looking at a lot of lighting lately, especially hanging lamps. Surfing around, looking for something a little unusual and slightly handmade looking, we discovered the linen covered iron lamps from Bobo, a new-to-us and unfortunately, to-the-trade-only site. This lamp in particular caught our eye, although we're betting the picture doesn't do it justice.

It picks up on the linen fabric idea we mentioned earlier today and the simple shape is versatile enough to adapt to any number of different settings. Plus, we like the fact that it's long and hangs from a rope instead of chain or a wire. Picture it over long oval marble topped Saarinen Tulip and then try it over a long rectangular rough hewn slab table with natural edges and you'll see what we mean. It works in both circumstances without fighting for attention but adds a little something to each setting. See it here and, if you have a decorator friend, consider it.

...and how does the wire get to the light bulb through a rope?

or does hold candles?
