Malibu Outdoor One-light Solar Powered Tiki Torch

Cowabunga dude! It's summer. Surf's up- Bring on the Luau! And c'mon, who doesn't love a kooky backyard tiki party? And of course, you can't have a tiki luau without some tiki torches. But oh the drama that comes with a tiki torch. You have to deal with messy lamp oil and constanly keep an eye on the open flames... Now you can forgo all of that with these Malibu Outdoor One-light Solar Powered Tiki Torches! They last up to 10 hours with a full charge and even the LED lights even flicker!

Now, I probably wouldn't recommend reading by these, but that's not what you have tiki torches for anyways. It's all about ambiance, and you'll be able to stick these in places that you normally wouldn't want an open flame next to. Plus there's no wiring! So have some fun- Do I hear the limbo stick calling? ($25.84 for a 2 pack, here) *we have also heard they may be available at your local Lowes, but it's subject to availability.

I tested these related to event work - see my blog-ette memorablegatherings@blogspot.com and look under event lighting. The problem with these LEDs is that the light is very unnatural in color and the flicker effect on them "strobes". The only solutions that I have found:

FOR STROBING: when placed in clusters, the strobing seems to have less visual impact. Also placing them at distant locations for light punctuation.

FOR COLOR: ammending the shade with color to color-correct the tone. I have used paint and colored paper to warm and help the color be less cold-green/yellow.

Otherwise, I think that these have value and should be considered for lighting solutions.
