As the name implies, Practical Props began in North Hollywood over 15 years ago as a film industry resource, specializing in set piece lighting in almost every shape and size, from every era for the surrounding entertainment business. They also provide repair services for any lamp or light, regardless whether modern or antique, offer a wide selection of bulb and lighting parts supplies, with restoration and fabrication as their claim to fame. This is basically a one-stop solution for your lighting needs.

Unfortunately, their huge rental inventory is only available for those within the trade (aka The Biz), so our dreams of perusing their huge collection of rental lighting is but a reverie. But Practical Props does offers a selection of new lamps in a variety of styles, including MidCentury Modern, Art Deco, Mission and Traditional from lighting manufacturers such as Ark Lighting, Living Well Lamp & Shade Company, Landmark Lighting Inc., and Meyda Tiffany for the public at one of their two locations. Definitely worth a peek if you find yourself over in North Hollywood!
