Vanessa talked about the genius that is West Elm a few weeks back, but we were in the store with a client yesterday and have to say something about this floor lamp ($99). Every time we see it we think how great it would be in so many spaces. The lamp is so much sexier in person, and we think the simple shape could warrant so much more $$.

Funny, I've been eyeing this lamp for the past six months. Your recommendations will likely make me buy it.
anyone know whether this would provide enough light for a 20*12 living room? We plan to have a floor lamp like this in one corner in addition to a couple of pendant lights above our dining table (on the other side of the living room).
Already bought one, as did my friend in Boston. Awesome deal, the texture on the shade is even better than in the picture.
mo: Almost definitely not. I have a 150W incandescent torchiere in the corner of my living room, was thinking this lamp might replace it, but it just isn't bright enough (and I have two 150W halogen bulbs from IKEA in it).
the tripod lamp has been happily ensconced in our bedroom, but now we're thinking of moving it into the lr since it's too nice to hide.
