Window Shade Project (Light & Shade)

lightwindowshade102d.jpg

Combining the features of a window shade and an ambient light, Doria Fan's Window Shade Project (Light & Shade) is a dual purpose student concept that seems to have a lot of market potential. The prototype has two sets of controls, one to control the level of sunlight by adjusting the height of the shade, and the other controls the light level...sure looks like a fun way to light up a dark room.

A small sample video of a prototype of the idea shows how each panel lights up with a soft blue glow, and there are even detailed plans of how to make one yourself if you're an engineering whiz. With the reduction of solar power and LED or OLED components, we wouldn't be surprised if we see this idea in a consumer form in the near future.
