Last weekend we started our trek with the mission to find new pillows for our vintage couch that we've proudly owned for 2 months. Sadly, all that we found was a splitting headache. We couldn't find one pillow that wowed us.

Last weekend we started our trek with the mission to find new pillows for our vintage couch that we've proudly owned for 2 months. Sadly, all that we found was a splitting headache. We couldn't find one pillow that wowed us.
So you can imagine our delight when we went online yesterday and found these inspirational linen pillow covers at The Conran Shop. First of all, the color alone will bring life to any little nook in your home. At first, we couldn't decide which color combo we had the most affinity for (upon further thought, we decided we like the robin's egg blue and pea green-yellow duo).
Secondly, these pillows had the unique effect of conjuring up warm memories from childhood (personal--we know but often times that's what makes all the difference). Finally, the bike image, the simple, linear lines of the spokes and the position the individuals are resting in after a long lazy end of summer day---ahhh. We can't wait until that FedEx box arrives on our stoop!
I like these..a lot! I have been obsessing about the right pillows (that show just the right ME!..ha) I do understand..the wow factor..it can get crazy..thank you, I will now go on the trillianth pillow site:conran's..oh..and price has a LOT to do with it!

Why so expensive? There are VERY similar pillows at World Market for much less money!
I too have been looking for stylish quality pillows... Who knew they are so hard to find!

I'm not a big fan of throw pillows, which so often degenerate into useless tiny tuffets that you can't sit on, lean on, or stick behind your neck or really anywhere comfortable. Occasional pillows should be big, soft and squashy - in other words, functional.
These are cute though. Love that they used bright colors on the earthy linen. Something like this would help me draw together my randomly colored stuff into something of a scheme.
