050608_oc.jpgWe recently got a chance to check out a store that's been on our list since reading about it on Apartment Therapy: OC Modern. We had such a great experience all around that we just can't say enough nice things about them.

Joshua and his wife Laurie operate OC Modern out of their Long Beach home, using their ranch style house as the showroom. The house is packed with mid century modern finds at some pretty good prices. Some of the items might be gently used, and they prefer to leave things as is, but that means that you aren't paying for a piece that's had to be totally overhauled.

They offer free delivery and honestly couldn't be nicer. Check out their website for the full inventory (which they update often) or call them to schedule an appointment: 714.580.8645

Yes, but what is that incredible metal chair in the right hand corner of the first picture? I must have that chair! Does anyone know, please?

I had a really great experience as well. I bought my gateleg table there last month. Not only was Josh really nice (and NOT snobby like some dealers!) just walking through their house turned showroom was a treat. I was so jealous of their home!

I've purchased two pieces from OC Modern and could not have been happier with the experience or the products. Josh was extremely helpful and accommodating, as well as honest and knowledgeable. The furniture was great and the prices very reasonable.

They can usually be found at their booth at the Long Beach Swap Meet, third Sundays each month.

Prices reasonable? Compared to what, I ask. I wouldn't say they are ridiculously overpriced but they aren't much of a steal either.

No, the prices aren't a steal but they could certainly be more than what they are asking.

You have consider that you aren't digging through flea markets or estate sales for the treasure - they are and so the prices reflect that. However, I still think that for a "dealer" the prices are reasonable.

i always swoon over the posts on craigslist. i applaud them for picking out nice pieces, taking care of them, and finding them good homes.
