on such a grand scale (we're missing the shot where the entire wall is covered) with painstakingly straight and level drawings of bookshelves with equally straight books. If we didn't already have so many real books we'd be all over this for our own home. We also like that they used the classic green version of chalkboard paint and not the updated or modern gray/black that we've seen a lot of. Check out some other uses for chalkboard paint and even some chalkboard vases to get your fix.

Ugh enough with that "offbeat" idea of putting graphics where actual furniture/fittings/accessories could have been. Graphics (stick-on vinyls and otherwise, like in this example) of lampshades or a standing light fixture beside a reading chair, or pots and pans in front of a crockery cabinet, or toiletries right above the sink are really stale. I think it's really silly-looking. I cannot explain it (and am certainly quite puzzled by my behaviour myself), but I feel really annoyed every time I see another example of this terrible idea.

Can chalkboard paint be used in the bathroom?

Amen, siongchinchan! I think this idea is rapidly becoming the bird silhouette of 2008. It's maybe even more contagious. I do like the green chalkboard paint, though, and this particular use of it doesn't grate on my nerves as much as decals do. Still, I'd much rather see something else drawn on it.

I used chalkboard paint on an old entertainment center. Photos at my Flickr account.
I think it would work in bathroom that didn't get very damp.
