Sneak Peek: IKEA Summer 2009 Product Preview

We've got the early look at IKEA's upcoming catalog of new summer season items (it was just a moment ago we previewed the '09 catalog), with plenty of nice wares for outdoor entertaining, our favourite being all the new lighting solutions and new rocking chair. Products should be arriving to stores in the next 2 weeks....

Maybe I should just set up my direct deposit right to IKEA to save everyone some time and effort?

Can't wait for the weather to break so I can use my patio again. Still see snow when I look out my window...*sigh*.

OMG this really makes me wish I had a patio...or at least a bigger balcony. The oasis I could create for myself....*drools*

How many balcony users have their balconies turned into a mini patio?

What do you do with your furniture in winter?

Solar lights were all the rage when they took over the market here last year. I'm glad I didn't buy them -- they were a huge disappointment. The ones I've seen scattered throughout my neighbourhood had a dim blue glow to them -- not bright enough to light up the walkways, no matter how many lights you staked into the ground!

The solar lanterns look pretty, but I'll hold off on purchasing until I get some solid reviews first!

yes, I have had BAD experiences with solar lights. they generally don't work. Maybe at a much higher price point?

I have been waiting all winter for them to come out with their summer stuff, ever since my husband agreed to getting a cute bistro set out on our balcony. Can't wait to jump on this the minute it gets into stores!

I can't wait for spring! Would love to get some of this stuff now, but sadly, my patio is still covered in snow.

Cute solar lights, the ones I've seen before have been way too ugly and expensive! Yay Ikea!

mmm. I've spent way too many hours today on the great britain Ikea site-- then I come here, and what do you know, more Ikea summer! I think it is a sign I need to get some of the things on my wish list. :D

natomaton - no way, and i'd love to see it. sounds fresh. roxo would fit wonderfully in my fledgling back 'patio' area, however, the ground not being level, i can see the feet.. well, scootching into the cracks.

nerdnik - i'd be purchasing in the hopes of good lighting throw, so knowing it may be form over funtion is good to know.

That vano chair is at my ikea, it's disappointingly low to the ground for me. Darn! I really liked the way it looked here, but it's more appropriate for my aged cat to walk onto and have a nap than for me to fall onto it (I'm clumsy-something that low means surely I'll tumble at some point!)

My favorite new things are the hammocks!! I just blogged about these as well and was surprised they weren't featured in these catalog pages.

barbara, I too was on the UK Ikea website in seek of the summer items that are coming soon. I was so hoping that lounge seating was coming here so I can outfit my new home's unfurnished patio! This made my night!

It prices out to half of the nearest competitor for outdoor deep seat lounging!

Wow - great stuff! I agree with the mixed reviews on solar lighting...I have had some issues with solar lights (decorative - not the ones you line your walkway with). I also found some nice ones at http://www.allsopgarden.com/ if anyone is looking for another option.
