apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Blush Radiator by Thorunn Arnadottir

021908_blushradiator.jpgWhen we first spotted this radiator, we were instantly reminded of those vintage medical books with the plastic overlay showing all the human body veins and stuff. And apparently, we weren't too far off the mark...

The Blush radiator was designed with the veins n' nerves in mind and painted with a special heat-sensitive paint (kind of like those Hypercolor t-shirts back in the 80's). When the radiator is hot (above 30 degrees C), it blushes red; when cold, the radiator gradually turns blue.

It's definitely interesting...but where are the radiators that are beautiful and functional, rather than quirky and functional?

Also - I see lots of cool radiators, but that's only if you own. It's not like apartment dwellers can change their radiators.
