We spied this over at DesireToInspire's blog: Diana Kellogg's loft in Tribeca has a playroom for her kids that we would have loved ourselves (it reminds us of Gymstrada back in elementary school, especially with the mats).

Normally, gym equipment is seen as ugly or tacky, but we're actually liking how it's used here in this space: it sort of resembles a huge art installation with the yellow netting, the climbing ropes, and the different colored swings. Plus, being in a predominantly white loft with soaring ceilings and open space doesn't hurt either...

What happened to just taking the kids to the park?

This is fantastic! Glad to see this rather than a huge zone dedicated to video games.
This would be a great solution to keeping kids active on rainy days or if a park is not easily accessible.

bepsf: I agree, take kids to the park. Except that doesn't work in the dead of winter, or on rainy days, or on days when parents need to get things done at home, and can't twiddle their thumbs in a playground while their children get much-needed fun/exercise/adventure. An indoor playground like this one is a luxury, for sure, but I've certainly had days -- not rarely! -- when I wish it was a luxury I could afford.

Beautiful room I wish I had the space to copy it. I have two kids that play outside all the time, but there are many days in the northeast when they can't go out to play. Love the kid-sized bentwood Thonet chairs, where can I get them???

I totally want to live in this room... a place to play, a place to read a book, a place to do projects, a place to make puzzles and play games, a place to put artwork up... I have to know where one can get a fabulous map like that?

Does anyone else see the smiley face made by the swing?
Look again at the red swing if you didn't, it makes the mouth.
