apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Defendius Door Chain

atla040108defendius2.jpgWe've stopped our April Fools pranking for the day, but we thought this Artemy Lebedev designed door chair concept fell into the category of a good joke. Perhaps by the time we did get to opening the door, those kids trying to sell their fund raising magazines or Sunday missionaries might get impatient and move on. Security indeed!

(I kinda wished that http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/small-cool-2007-entries/east-semifinalist-1-rons-hotel-sweet-022909 was also a hoax, since it's so unfair a pro's allowed to play in the little leagues, but blah)

Let's hope you break the record next year! NOT.

Come on Dj...it's okay, it's just one day of the year. Now pull my finger.

this lock could actually be practical if it had less curves. I once saw on tv how a door's regular chain lock was 'picked' using a fork. This one is/would not be as simple as it has so many twist and curves.

This could be bad in a fire for someone who has a bad memory...
...or it could be a good way to keep the kids from sneaking out at night.
