Frayed Symphony: Sköna Hem Featured Home

060309_curio1.jpgWhen we took a closer look at the latest home featured in Sköna Hem, we noticed that each space was full of contradictions: Black and white, antique and brand new, romantic and utilitarian. Add up all these opposing elements, and you've got a home that's subtly intriguing and full of eclectic charm. Take a look at more photos after the jump...

060309_curio2.jpgGorgeous entryway that gets lots of natural light is painted both white and black. Also, antique portrait oil paintings are in every room--they sort of remind us of haunted following eye portraits.

060309_curio3.jpgThe kitchen is a harmonious mix of rustic and utilitarian: butcher block counter tops with farm-style cabinets paired with industrial stainless steel shelving and appliances. Check out the farmhouse sink with its pair of modern Artemide Tolomeo lamps.

060309_curio4.jpgThe bedroom is done in neutral tones but with rich textures, especially from the velvet bedspread--a stark contrast to the simple lines of the bed frame. The mismatched nightstands keep the room from looking too symmetrical.

060309_curio5.jpgWhen most people use their cast-off furniture for porches and sun rooms, this home gives just as much attention to its sun room as it does the other rooms. An intricate white bedspread covers a vintage French sofa, creating an inviting area to relax or nap in this narrow room.

060309_curio6.jpgA huge arched mirror is salvaged and used as a backdrop to the dining buffet. This corner of the dining room is a study in romantic, curvy lines from the silver pitchers, lamps, candleholders, and legs of the table to the more practical tarnished metal baskets on the bottom row that holds seasonal decorations and a supply of candles.

i love the beautifully rustic room divider, the heads(busts) in the first picture are a little creepy, but overall a beautiful space.

Beautiful. Does anyone know where to find something similar to the coffee table in the first picture?
