In preparation for this post, we conducted a little experiment: Instead of haunting our usual lunch spot, we ventured a little further out and parked ourselves at an outdoor table at a cafe in Eagle Rock for a little...people watching. Well, more like plaid watching. The game research was very, very simple: Count the number of people wearing plaid. Granted, we MAY have stacked the deck a bit with our neighborhood of choice, but still: 36 out of roughly 60 people we saw during our lunch break were all resurrecting this grungy trend. After tallying up every flannel shirt, every plaid tunic/smock/dress/muumuu, and every scarf within the hour, we surmised that plaid's hostile takeover of LA's East side is still going strong after all these months--and it's only a matter of time when it infiltrates our homes. Oh wait! It already has...take a look at some these offerings...
