Guess Which Celebrity Hosts Here?
From InStyle Magazine

111109_KBellDining.jpg"It makes me really comfortable to be a caretaker," says this celebrity about her hosting duties, "When I'm domestic, I feel empowered." This actress' 5,500 square foot Spanish-style home is put to good use as a place for friends to relax and hang out; and the property is big enough for weekend camp-outs around her makeshift fire pit. Care to make a guess who calls this place home?

Some info about this home: The interiors of the home were updated thanks to interior designer Stacey Vuduris. In fact, the entire remodel took six months: redoing the kitchen, decorating the space, and gutting out the master bedroom and bathroom. We particularly liked this celebrity home because it did a good job of mixing mainstream pieces from more mass-market shops like CB2 with unique, designer pieces. But we won't draw this guessing game for too long. So who owns this glorious hosting heaven?

Kristen Bell

Using an ottoman as a coffee table certainly isn't a new idea, but we love the idea of making it the centerpiece of a room. By keeping the rest of the furniture neutral and using a bright, colorful textile to cover the ottoman, it creates an easy focal point--not to mention something that can be used in other rooms as well...

111109_KBellKitchen.jpg...like in the kitchen. Bell's kitchen barstools are covered with the same pattern as the ottoman. This kitchen used to have dark cherry-finish wood cabinets and yellow tiles; thanks to Bell and Vuduris, the kitchen has a much brighter and energetic look with new stone counters and a few coats of white paints in two different tones.

111109_KBellDining.jpgPerhaps our favorite room in the house is the dining room: Bell's dining table is made of teak wood and echoes the home's original Spanish architecture with its Mission-style base. The dining room chairs are faux suede hailing from CB2 and mixed with two studded armchairs that look like they were nicked from a library. Also love the open shelving--something we rarely see in a formal dining room, but it gives the room a more casual feel than a traditional sideboard.

111109_KBellBedroom.jpgBell's bedroom reminds us a bit of the interiors we featured on our On the Set tour of Pride and Prejudice, but much more up-to-date and modern. It's a great mix of romantic with modern: Strong angles and lines from the X-benches, but covered in soft blue velvet...the curving lines of the headboard flow with the feminine floral wallpaper, but the studding gives the bed a tough edge.

111109_KBellOutdoors.jpgNo hosting paradise this grand is without its outside amenities, including this awesome lounge area and...

111109_KBellPOol.jpg...an even more incredible pool. Who knew Veronica Mars had a pad like this?

This is really lovely. And good for her for doing some things on the cheap, like repainting the kitchen cabinets rather than ripping them out.

I have a hard time understanding how it could be 5,500 square feet, though--the rooms seem really small (in a good way).

I love Veronica Mars & her dining room chandelier. Do you know where it hails from?

Veronica Mars was the best show ever. I love Kristen Bell and she's got great taste. That bed is killer. Do you think that is wallpaper on the wall behind it, or a paint treatment?

This just makes me adore her even more -- fantastic taste on top of being a smart and sassy actress. Her dogs are adorable, too

I look at these pictures and I don't believe the person who lives there chose a single thing.

ditto on the longing for V Mars. L-O-V-E-D that show. (Even the husband got into it). I'd highly recommend getting the ENTIRE series together and sitting down on a rainy day. Have a marathon. You wouldn't want it any other way.

It's a cute place. I wish I had the $$, time and all that to put together something like she has - in under 1K sq ft.

@Grace Shu: what makes this decoration 'Spanish' to you? I'm not sure I understand.

I too miss Veronica Mars and feel like it ended with too many loose ends. And Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Forgetaboutit. I keep hoping she'll break out into bigger roles.
