"It's not about having a lot of money, it's about having that one thing that makes you feel fabulous--from artwork to a sumptuous throw to spread across your bed," says Rachel Zoe. Amanda Talbot, blogger of Welcome Home posted a great interview with this celebrity stylist/Bravo TV show star along with some fantastic photos of Zoe's home...
Zoe's home is an interesting mix of cool modern lines accented with glamorous details. And while her home certainly exudes luxury and designer labels (her Fendi furniture probably cost an arm and a leg), it also has a surprising welcoming and warm vibe to it as well--a rarity especially for homes as polished and perfect as this.

To see what we mean, check out more photos of Zoe's home and read her interview over at Amanda Talbot's blog, Welcome Home - A Guide to Modern Living.

Her home IS Bananas! I could simply move in here and would not change a thing.
She is BANANAS too! Thought I would dislike her with that voice and over-sized clothing, but fell in love with her on the show!!!!

It's not about having a lot of money? With a home like that?

What a beautiful mix of glam/modern. This is the only recent celeb home that gives me any inspiration. very cool.

This is a BEAUTIFUL house (checked out the blog) but what about the state of the kitchen after entertaining a camera crew for the afternoon? I see not even a cup on the dining/breakfast table. No jackets lying around on backs of chairs. No shoes piled up in the hallway. How is it possible to live in a house that genuinely looks like it is always this impeccable??

Ehh, not my style. And yes, this does take money. I'd like to see what her digs looked like pre-Bravo.

Eh. I am so unimpressed by someone writing a check and ending up with a beautiful house. The reader house tours are so much more inspirational!

I love that sofa, does anyone know where to find one similiar to that or that actual sofa itself. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know where to get the Bikini Girls posters? I've seen these posters in the past, but have never been able to track down where to purchase them.

oh, we saw the entire Fendi furniture collection at Harrod's in London... OMG, talk about an arm and a leg and then some for that stuff covered in the trademark Fendi F's, that couch is probably 60K... and in person it all just looks so.... Cocaine drug-lord or tacky oil sheik, take your pick. They're Monets.... cute from afar far from cute...

I'm with HCVMama too.
And it's easy to afford nice things when you don't waste any money on food. (zing!)

some people just don't have the time for diy and might not have the right skill to make it all happen. i don't see anything wrong with ppl who spend their hard earned money on pretty things. do you make your own clothes too? never eat a meal out? not everyone can do everything on their own. so negative. its weird.

A lot of what makes this home attractive can be done at all different price points. Neutral upholstery, mix of materials (wood, glass, metal), interesting accents, books that reflect the homeowners' interests, etc.
You could do something like her closet with Ikea shelves and a can of red paint. The awesome throw on the bed could be done with a sheepskin throw. I've seen cowhide rugs like hers on ebay for $500.

I think her home is beautiful.

Her home is just like her: cold, minimal, and meek. Not impressed at all.

To EAM:
Good point... if it were my place, all crew would get slippers and felts in all shapes and sizes to be placed on all equipment. I might just bubble wrap the crew and all of their equipment! : )

I don't think anyone is opposed to spending a lot of money on your home - just opposed to people saying that that's not what it's about - when you clearly couldn't achieve the look without the checkbook.
view 2kidsandus's profile
i think her point is that her goal is to get a certain look, not just to spend an obscene X amount of money. However, it happens to be that the look she wants is very expensive. So she's saying its not about how much she spent, its about achieving her vision of her home.
Also, I noticed many people who are featured on this site, in house tours or the competitions etc, are interior designers or work in the design industry in some way. Their income and their work depends on people like Rachel Zoe cutting them checks. From their point of view, I'm sure the more zeros on the check, the better....

Not very animal friendly eh?
