Holy Leather Loungers, Batman! The Batcave Home Theater Room

012208_batman1.jpg

Say you're in the market to put a theater in your house. You COULD go the traditional route and model it after a nice, Art Deco-style vintage theater...or you could put in an INSANE BATCAVE!

As tacky or ridiculous as this may seem, you have to give the guys at Elite Home Theater Systems credit for committing to a vision. The stalactites and bat sconces are a nice touch; and that Batscreen is money!

I love whoever thought of this. No more safe beige sofas and Tv's in the armoire!

Seriously, HowTF is this cheesy, tacky or ridiculous? I can see it was very well thought of and most of all, EXECUTED. Simply because it's not mainstream (and definitely not something you'd see in a dwr catalog) doesn't make it any less artful than any other contemporary setting. In many ways this seems to be a more sophisticated setup than ANY of the ones I've seen on unplggd.com; cables, speakers and media showing... yet they're "tasteful" to some of your standards. That's pretty sad.

Dj,

It's cheesy in a good way. ;) Like the 1960's Batman series...total camp, but still fun.

I can't complain. It is executed very well!

That's the most incredible thing I think I've ever seen. Two things I've always wanted, a home theater and a bat cave, in one! Why didn't I think of that before!

speaking of Batman... Heath Ledger, who was supposed to play the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie, died today...

BRILLIANT! What exec from WarnerBros had this installed at home? Wonder if he'll be able to use it as a tax right-off.

I wonder what all the stalactites do for the sound quality in the room... might be good, since there are no right angles. Hmmmmm.

AHH, I love it! The concept, the execution - awesome. And I agree, it's not at all cheesy - cheesy might have been having old Batman movie posters and memorablia all over the place.

haha. Totally insane. Can you imagine actually coughing up the money for this? I always joked about my "batcave". Imagine if there actually was one!

I wonder what those walls are doing to the acoustics though...
