We just recently mentioned the Tundra Fire Suppressant as an affordable safety device. But sometimes we put utility aside and go a bit goo-goo-gah-gah over designed objects that marry utility with good design. The spray can option isn't looking as hot after seeing this new take on fire safety devices.
Home Depot has introduced a new line of home products, Orange Works, designed by architect Peter Arnell (a former Michael Graves disciple), the first of which is this fire extinguisher, part of their Home Hero brand. With an eye to aesthetics and ergonomics, Orange Works products aim to be proudly displayed, instead of stored away, accessible for easy and quick use. This first product seems like a positive indicator of the partnership...we cant wait to see the additional two items in development. [via MarketWatch].
