We've been hearing about the shift from bright white on white in home decor to a darker, more sophisticated palette with the same crispness that white offers. Until now we hadn't been totally convinced. But with the gorgeous styling in the catalog TineKHome, a house full of black, grays and deep purples looks inviting and chic.

We love how texture makes the spaces feel rich and luxurious. Not only are there sleek glossy objects, but there are warm, soft fabrics, rustic stripes and plaids and the just casual enough flower arrangements to make these rooms look effortlessly beautiful. And when the darker palette is put up against white walls and beautiful windows, it keeps the rooms from being overbearing or, well, too dark. That last image we thought was a great in-between, borrowing from the dark rooms and the Swedish influenced rooms we love.
See more in the TineKHome Catalog out of Denmark. Thanks to Decor8 for opening our eyes.

I've been looking for a purple (queen sized) duvet cover. Any leads?

Except for the last picture, those rooms make me feel like I've lost the ability to see colors. They are nicely arranged, but that effect makes it too severe and not soothing. They look a little like black and white photography with a little color added, like in those greeting cards, but not as hazy and romantic.

I love this! Maybe *this* is the direction I'll take our master bedroom in...

I have to say that I am really feeling the monochrome vibe. I have been experiencing severe sensory overload from the current "everything must be bright colors and patterns" trend and the "every era of design thrown together in a cluttered room full of mismatched dining chairs and frames" trend.
Gray and simple is looking pretty fantastic right about now.

TineK has been popping up on blogs all over lately...glad to see it here, too. If this is the direction decor is going in I couldn't be more pleased.

Wow, that black china cabinet filled with black dishes is so Anti-Martha.

I like it for the winter. I think in the warmer months with foliage on the trees and more sunlight I would find it oppressive.

I couldn't really appreciate these shots until I saw them in the context of the TineKHome catalog layout. Interspersed with other photos where color wasn't as sparse made these settings far more appealing and beautiful, and maybe something more people would love to live with.

Man, I want SOME relief from all that monochrome -- it's way too Goth for me. (Might be ok with more green plants or SOEMTHING to break the tension.) I'd think your face in the mirror would look dead!

I have been thinking about going purple & gray in my bedroom with hints of silver for sparkle. I would go farther than these pictures show though. Purple walls to start. I think is great for a bedroom because it will be dark and cozy to sleep in.

My first reaction: Who threw a bucket of tar into the china closet?
My second reaction: This would be like living in a roll of licorice-flavored Neco Wafers.
