Ivanka’s tips:
- Mix it up
- Have fun with your walls

- Prepare for clutter

I love America!

First Julianne Moore and now Ivanka Trump? Any day now we're going to see interiors by George Bush. And he'll screw THAT up, too.

I think there's WAY too much going on in here!

it already looks dated.. and it makes me want to watch "mean girls"
view antimatt's profile
ooh geez, why do people have to get all political on this website.. chill out and keep your comments about the post, not your beliefs that no one wants to hear.
view animalhouze's profile
Holy crap, I think I might stroke out if I went into that room.
view protogarrett's profile
The living room does not work for me. I say "NOT" to the ceramic cheetahs and why does one need three zebra rugs in a tiny one-bedroom apt. The bedroom is cute, though.
view lucidez777's profile
protogarrett, i know, right? ivanka says to create a focal point in the article.. ummm.. my eyes are going every which way.. where is the focal point in this room exactly?!
view animalhouze's profile
Poor Ivanka... she inherited her mother's looks and her father's taste.
view Darrin927's profile
Julianne Moore's attempt was more appealing to me. Who knows, maybe this interior reflects Ivanka's assistant's taste perfectly [two peas in a pod?]. To me, it seems beyond odd to have your boss decorate your home. I mean, really!

Pink pink pink and zebra zebra zebra. That's so innovative!

Darrin927, I'm with you. You had me LOL with that comment.
Anyhow, all I can say about her ability as decorator is YUCK! What exactly are her credentials anyhow?
view dmstudio's profile
I thought the rooms were better BEFORE she got her hands on them.
view nazrd's profile
I like the new furniture but the patterns and silver walls are too much for me.

Does anyone know where the cheetah statues are from? I've seen them at Barney's Co-op, too...

You liked the bed in front of the fireplace?
view bepsf's profile
i agree with visuallingual... it must be super weird to have your (extremely wealthy) boss redecorate your (extremely tiny, 1 room) apartment.
i dont like the mix of patterns in the living space, but maybe the assistant does.

this is a studio, not a 1br.

can't we send her on an internship to japan?
view aad's profile
The only thing I like here is the wall colors, and even then I question using more than one color in a studio.
view bigfun's profile
do her daddy likes gold and she likes silver, but one thing they have in common - zero design skill! stick to selling the buildings, let other people sweat the other stuff.
view alishajune's profile
Wow. Money really can't buy good taste.

My eyes are burning from the little pictures . . . I shudder to think what might happen if I actually set foot in the place.

I agree with AnimalHouze, stay on topic and keep the political comments that NO ONE cares about to yourself. Making them makes you look like an idiot.

so ridiculous!
view PlanItGirl's profile
To borrow a phrase from daddy... "you're fired!"
view lightspeed's profile
I think the rooms look really, really juvenile. I can imagine a fourteen year old girl enjoying those rooms, and I could even consent to letting future daughters decorate their bedrooms that way.
Maybe Ivanka should just specialize in doing kids' bedrooms.
view Ajax's's profile
Wow, a GWBush joke sure rubs some people the wrong way.
view anne's profile
Needs to keep her daytime job...Stick with what she's good at, which is....er, well...it's not decorating....this is beyond aweful
view hdtex's profile
Poor Ivanka. Still trying to find herself....
view quiltmaster's profile
Foooogly.
What's up with the bed comforter not covering the ends of the top mattress? That is just, bad.
The green bedroom is tolerable for a 10 year old girl.

It looks kinda like Victoria's Secret, 2001.

wow are those mirrored kitchen cabinets?
that must be fun to clean!

Has anyone seen the store in Soho called "Girlprops?" How 'bout their zebra and pink painted Mustang? Yeah, that belongs here.

After seeing The Donald's gilded-doo-digs, all I can say is Ivanka cannot escape her DNA.

AT is a welcome respite from politics. Let's please keep it that way.

Eeeee-GAD!
Was this post just to help us get out bitching and snarking out before the final small & cool voting?? It's working!
Yeah, I loved Julianna Moore's design. Not sure I would have gone with the bedroom if it were mine, however, it's better than the bedroom I have now. I loved the peacock blue couch.

What's more shocking than all the pink in this space is the bitterness of all of you! I though AT-ers were of the "live and let live" sort who frown upon bashing the taste of others.
I guess that only applies to people without trust-funds.
I think if this were posted by a "regular" person looking for your opinion, you'd find more complimentary things to say. While it's not my particular taste, I do feel that Ivanka improved the layout of the space, creating "function" areas and a better flow, and it has a lot more personality now.
view terminallygroovy's profile
How can anyone stay in that room for longer than 15 mins and not get a headache ? Sorry, I would not like to have to live there, I prefer something more serene for my living space.
But perhaps AT just caters for a different audience than Glamour does ? Don't think this particular decorator style appeals to the taste of most readers here, so perhaps it is just a case of mistaken product placement.

In defense of Ms. Trump, I actually sat next to her on an 18-hour flight to Bangkok (in "Premium Economy" no less!) and she was perfectly nice and down to earth, dressed completely unassumingly casual (leggings and an oversized sweatshirt), and totally personable.
Of her decorating skills, however, I have no comment.
view abb_brooklyn's profile
A little too much going on in the rooms with colors and patterns. Makes me dizzy.
view suzy8track's profile
Amazingly, Ivanka even had the "help" of a stylist to create these rooms.
view Cassis's profile
Gaah, hideous.
Why did AT even post this schlock?
view Mel S's profile
I think there are various elements in the room that are appealing, but as a unit there is just to much goin on in this space.
view 519Wilson's profile
Makes me wonder why Ivanka so hates her assistant that she committed this atrocity on the poor woman's home. Reminds me of a double-wide after the owner won the lottery.
Hysterical, Darrin927!
view Sydney's profile
she has an assistant?
view SD913's profile
terminallygroovy you nailed it.
why has a good portion of the AT audience become a "oh, we have such better taste" judgefest ?
DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO BE THE SAME ???
view orangered's profile
why is irritating orangered person whinging?
view orangered's profile
The only good design choice Ivanka Trump ever made was hiring the uber-talented Emma Jane Pilkington to design her apartment (House and Garden Jan 2005). Seeing other "work" of Ivankas makes it obvious she has been passing her chic apartment off as her own work when it is clearly that of a professional designer with a true sense of style. Ivankas decorating doesnt come close to the class and taste of EJP. How sad she has been using Emma's work to launch herself as a decorator.
