Jung-Ah Kim's "A Draw Bag" Desk

121908drawer_bag.jpgHow awesome is this desk concept? Very! We imagine it as the desk of choice for jewel thieves, spies or anyone else who might need to literally pack up and get away at the drop of a hat. Each "drawer" doubles up as a close-it-and-go briefcase, making an escape for home or wherever else an easy getaway.

Except that the "drawers" would suck as drawers...

Or wait- how are these functioning? Only a suitcase when doubled, okay, thats what I get for hastily skimming the description. Still strange!

She's not getting away really fast in those slippers.

I looked this up online and cannot easily find the original source. It is on a lot of blogs! I can't quite grasp whether all the drawers are also cases, or just that top one. The other drawers have a different shape, no seams, and aren't demonstrated. Even the top one that's a case does not function as a drawer. If that is the case, the only thing this one has is purple. And uh, a specific indentation for the case. My favorite trackback in the infinite loop of blogs on which this desk has been featured I found in a minute was this one:

"Combining the usefulness of a desk drawer with the portability of a suitcase, designer Jung-Ah Kim has pooped up with an innovative desk concept..."

A modified design of this would be great to keep clients information in separate cases for grab and go to a meeting.
