Two ATLA readers, Enrique and Minty, wrote in to inform us that Kelly Wearstler of
KWID and
Top Design fame has put up her former 3 bedroom and 2bath office/residence for sale for $1,595,000. By appointment only, but you can peek into her signature style bathroom (shown above) and a surprisingly bland kitchen
here.
Ah, I know that house. I've walked by there many a time while grabbing coffee from King's Road Cafe.
I wished they showed the closet. That girl dressing like a crazy person.
Such a great location, but I'm completely shocked by the listing price. Almost 1.6 mil, yeesh! Will she at least throw in her crimping iron or fingerless gloves? It seems like it was only 7-10 years ago that houses in this neighborhood were going for the low 400s.
Enrique -
Where have you been?? I'd be lucky to find a shack in South Central for under $1 million...
Ryan. I used to live just north of there for several years. I'm pretty sure that 10 yrs ago, prices were still in the 400s in that area. Maybe, I'm wrong?... But yeah, I hear you: I just looked at 2-bedroom contemporary townhouse 1 block north of Santa Monica and just east of Sweetzer listed. Asking price: 1.16 mil.
she doesn't really strike me as the cooking type. i'd venture that "hot appliances" used in her home consist of the hair-frying variety.
Disappointing. And rather boring.
I think people are a little confused. While it is technically a "residence", she never lived there. She bought and re-did it to be the KWID offices (her interior design firm). As offices, it is stunning. And if you think the kitchen is "bland" I would take it anyday over the kitchen they have at my office!
