apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Lil' Bungalow

Tumbled stone entrance walkway, renovated bath, kitchen with new cabinets, stacked washer/dryer, bedroom with Murphy bed with built-ins that double as a den, and 2 car parking. Sounds great, huh? How about all that in 300 sq. ft., built on the lot of a former driveway? That house looks like I did in high school gym class, stuck inbetween two football players!

Oh my. I've often looked at my garage, sitting there just holding a car, and thought how I'd really rather it was attached to the house so I could turn it into another room.

I do think it's adorable, however, that pricing only makes sense if the surrounding houses are appraised at more than 4 times that price. There is no way I would pay almost as much as the comparatively humongous neighbors. Another thing, the electricity bills will be huge because of the lack of sunlight.
